The Between Generations project
of Girl Guides of PEI is best
represented in the interviews
completed by numerous Guides across the Island.
It was a great way to for the Guides of today to also connect with
the past Guides and help document the evolution
of Island Guiding
throughout the decades.

She was Brownie in Manitoba and a Guide in Alberta
•
Brownies were from 8-12
•
Guides were from 12-19
•
For uniforms she also had a man’s tie type for
Brownies (each province had a different color)

Dues were 5 cents
•
A Service project they did when she was a Brownie at
the end of WW2 was to collect toothpaste containers and
tin cans. In the spring they always had floods, so they
would go door to door gathering cans of tuna and salmon
to make sandwiches for the men who were making dykes
around the flooded areas.

She became an adult member in 1969 and is still involved
today. (36 years)
•
Traveled to England, Germany, all over Canada except
Yukon.
•
Likes the campfires the best.
