Between Generations Interviews

The Between Generations project of Girl Guides of PEI is best represented in the interviews completed by numerous Guides across the Island. It was a great way to for the Guides of today to also connect with the past Guides and help document the evolution of Island Guiding throughout the decades.

Elaine Smith

• Started Brownies in 1974. Barb Myers was the leader.
• There was a total of 30 girls in Brownies and Guides
• In the 80’s we went from divisions to areas.
• The Pathfinders group started our first Sparks unit in Hunter River in 1990
• Breanna and Darrah Richardson had picture on National Cookie box
• A Sparks group picture was in the Guide Calendar.
• Marion L. Reid award was presented to three of our senior members: Meghan McGrath, Erin Nicholson and Debbie Smith
 
• Girls traveled to England, Denmark, Mexico, CM’99, Newfoundland, Guelph in ’93, Space Camp in Florida
